If you’ve ever been a graduate student, then you know how difficult it can be to read for pleasure. As a graduate student, I’ve had to do a lot of research, which involves reading dry (but sometimes interesting) academic material on topics that may or may not interest me. Growing up, however, I was always reading for pleasure, especially during the summer.
I’ll soon have my master’s degree, and I’d like to start getting in the habit of reading again for fun. I had a difficult time trying to choose 10 books I’d like to read this summer (talk about choice anxiety). I enjoy all types of genres: romance, suspense/horror, adventure, fantasy/supernatural, nonfiction, historical fiction, etc.
I tried to select 10 books that encapsulates many of these genres, as well as helpful books, and the slideshow of the 10 books is below (in no particular order):
